This seems to be the only way to gain access to the serial console on a LicheePi 4A Console. The pins for RX, TX, and GND go to the TX, RX, and GND pins on the USB to serial converter. There has to be an easier way to do this than to use test hook clips. Even a header (female preferably) soldered onto the board would have made things a lot easier. This is like needing a second computer and a funny cable to access the BIOS on a standard PC.
I wonder how hard it is to add support to Uboot for the screen and keyboard? This is I think the closest analogue to a standard x86 PC’s ROM BIOS and it’s incredibly annoying to have to use a kludgy serial console linkup to access it, especially since it is also the analogue to GRUB. Looks like this might be another project that I should look into.
